At Hilltop Junior School the safety and wellbeing of our children is of paramount importance to us. Please can we ask that when dropping off or picking up your child/children, parents and carers drive carefully and park responsibly. Our road safety working party from both Hilltop schools are striving to ensure that the journey to and from school is a safe one and we work very closely with the neighbourhood parking committee. Please find a letter below written to all parents outlining their concerns. We have also added a link to the charity Brake of which Hilltop Junior school is a member, where you can find details on road safety, accident statistics etc. It is important to us that children and their families feel safe and happy on their way into and out of school and we shall be doing everything possible to make sure this is the case. We would therefore like to remind you that;
  • Abusive language or behaviour is never acceptable in the school environment and the police will be contacted should this occur.

  • No parents or carers should drive onto the school site unless by prior arrangement with the office staff at the Infant or Junior Schools, this includes picking up from after school clubs or disco's and open evenings.

  • Cars should not be parked in the hammer heads, on the zig zags, on yellow lines (they are there for a reason, the safety of our children), on bends, across driveways or on pavements (please remember those families who need to walk past with a buggy and our neighbours).

We are very grateful to all the parents and carers who have been so supportive and hope that we can all continue to work together to make the journey to and from school a safer one. Please click on the links below. If you would like to join the group please check the calendar for the next meeting.
