On Thursday 20th November 2014 the gardening reporter for the Sun Newspaper, Peter Seabrook, came to visit our gardening children to present them with a £350 voucher and a beautiful bench for the Grow Your Own Potato competition. There were 16,000 entries nationally and Hilltop Junior School came 1st, growing the largest quantity and the heaviest single potato, what an amazing achievement . Well done to our gardeners we are very proud of you!

 Internet Safety

All parents want to ensure their children are safe but how safe are they when using the internet? Do you monitor your child when they are online? Do they use social networking sites like Facebook etc? Do you know who they are talking to? Most of these sites have a minimum age of 14 for safety reasons and parents should consider deleting accounts belonging to underage children.

If you are unsure or need more information on internet safety click on the link www.safekids.co.uk to find lots of information on a wide range of topics, including 'which search engines are safe for kids?'. If you use one of the recommended sites and set it as your homepage your child will be able to surf more safely than using a general search engine. Another great site with lots of advice and tips is www.thinkuknow.co.uk.

If you are concerned or disturbed by the content of any material sent to your child please report it to CEOP, just click on the link below.
